Selection and use of personal protective equipment
Ensuring occupational safety according to risk assessment and workplace requirements
Employees must be provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) if the risk of accident or illness at the workplace cannot be avoided or reduced by technical collective protection measures or work organization solutions. When issuing PPE, the employer must arrange training for employees on the proper use of personal protective equipment.
The need for personal protective equipment (PPE) is defined in the workplace risk assessment, which specifies where, what type, and what protective properties of equipment are required to protect the employee’s health. The Labour Inspectorate’s recommendations on personal protective equipment can be found here.
Personal protective equipment training and usage:
The training consists of personal protective equipment (PPE) usage instruction, along with a practical demonstration of how to use PPE, and it will address the health risks associated with not using PPE.

The training program will be tailored to meet the specific needs of the client, considering the PPE usage instructions, the client’s internal procedures for PPE usage, and the results of the client’s risk analysis.
