Confined space work training

Safe work in depths and confined spaces

The confined space training is designed for those working in depths or confined spaces. Tasks performed in tanks, cisterns, wells, or other enclosed or restricted spaces increase the likelihood of workplace accidents, requiring specialized training and instruction. Read more about confined spaces (Confined Space) here.

The goal of the training is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge to ensure safe work in depths or confined spaces and to ensure the use of appropriate fall protection and rescue equipment.

Outputs and topics of confined space training:

As a result of the training, participants will understand the hazards and risks associated with working in confined spaces, know how to select the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), and perform tasks safely while following a safety plan.

Topics covered:

  • Workplace accidents and their causes in confined spaces.
  • Hazards associated with confined spaces and their identification.
  • Entry permits and permit-required confined spaces.
  • Roles and responsibilities within a confined space team.
  • Safety plans for working in confined spaces.
  • Selection and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Supervision, rescue readiness, and emergency response procedures.

Practical exercises include the use of a confined space simulation and actual confined spaces located at the client’s premises where employees carry out their tasks. Training in the work environment enables the identification of existing hazards/risks and the selection of suitable PPE for the specific site.

The training program is adapted to meet the specific requirements of the client.

Upon successful completion of the training, participants will receive a certificate issued by Kukkumiskaitse OÜ, valid for 2 years. Participants who complete both theory and practical training will also receive a confined space work (Confined Spaces) plastic certification card. If the participant attends 100% of the training but does not pass the exam, a certificate of attendance will be issued instead.

The training can be conducted at our training facilities in Tallinn or Tartu, or at your company's premises anywhere in Estonia.

We provide the necessary fall protection equipment, giving participants the opportunity to try out various gear.

The training can be conducted in Estonian or Russian.
