Work at heights training
Safe work at heights
The work at heights safety training is designed for individuals working on rooftops, masts, ladders, scaffolding, or other fall-risk areas, who seek both theoretical and practical knowledge to perform high-altitude tasks safely, using appropriate fall protection equipment.
Before beginning high-altitude work, it is essential to ensure that the worker is competent for this type of work. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that only trained and instructed workers operate in hazardous areas, or that the work is carried out under the supervision of a qualified employee (TTOS § 4 (4) [2]).
Let me know if you’d like to modify or expand on this in any way!

The goal and topics covered in the work at heights training:
As a result of the training, participants will be able to choose the necessary fall protection equipment and perform high work safely on rooftops, masts, ladders, scaffolds, and other fall-risk areas.
Upon successful completion of the training, participants will receive a certificate from Kukkumiskaitse OÜ, valid for 2 years. Participants who pass both the theory and practical tests will also receive a plastic card for work at heights. If the participant completes the training but does not pass the exam, a certificate of participation will be issued.
By the end of the training, the learner will:
- Be familiar with the use of tools and legislation regulating high work.
- Select appropriate fall protection equipment and assess its usability.
- Evaluate the condition of ladders and scaffolding and use them safely.
- Install and use fall arrest systems, considering the safety factors related to high work.
- Install and use positioning systems, considering the safety factors related to high work.
- Carry out rescue operations for lowering the injured person.
Practical exercises include assembling personal equipment based on the nature of the work, installing and using fall protection lines and automatic blocks, climbing with safety lines, and understanding the principles of fall arrest. Additionally, learners will practice positioning using harnesses and positioning lines, as well as using rescue kits to save an injured person by cutting the safety line.
The training can be conducted at our training facilities in Tallinn or Tartu, or at your company's premises (across Estonia).
We provide the necessary fall protection equipment, giving participants the opportunity to try different gear.
The training can be held in Estonian or Russian.

Liis Jurjev,
The participants' feedback was truly very positive. Even yesterday/today, students in school were sharing their impressions, and it was clear that those who didn’t attend regretted not participating. The participants highlighted that after completing the training, they think about safety much more.
Many of them conducted an inventory of their current personal protective equipment to understand whether what they are using is sufficient or if something needs to be replaced or purchased additionally. As instructors, we now also pay more attention to various aspects of safety. Before starting any work, we try to analyze with the students what risks the specific task may pose and how we can either reduce or eliminate that risk.
Maiu Roio,
You have been training our students in work safety and high-altitude work for 3 years. The students really enjoy the training you provide, and what they like most is Taavi's speaking style, which is very straightforward.
The practical part of your training is especially great, and as a teacher, I appreciate that after your training, students have lost or reduced their fear of heights. Why do I recommend your training to other schools/people? Simply because you know what you're talking about, and since you work in this field, you have seen everything and more. You speak from personal experience, which is the most effective way to get the message across, based on your personality.
Piia Kivisild,
Taavi's training engaged all the students. It sparked a discussion, there were many questions, and the interest in the information continued even after the training.
Riho Laanemets,
Among the high values of our company are quality and competence. Therefore, employee awareness of safety and the prevention of accidents are our top priorities. We thank you for the high-altitude work and rescue training, which all of our participants were extremely satisfied with!
We hope that the rescue skills we gained will never need to be applied, but at the same time, we believe that thanks to the training, we will be able to handle potential crisis situations quickly and safely.
Thank you from the Tartu team!
